Ohya chef

Oya was born in Sakhalin in 1943. At the age of 6, he was back to Hakodate in the chaos of WWⅡ, and stepped into the world of culinary arts at 15. After the training at Toshi Center Hotel in Tokyo, he became a desciple of Chef Sadayuki Hotta at "Le Trianon", an in-hotel restaurant at Prince Hotel. When he was 40, he was appointed to the chef at the restaurant "Chatelaine" in Shinjuku Prince Hotel and later became the executive chef. Through his careers as the opening executive chef at Maihama Prince Hotel and that of Shinagawa Prince Hotel, he played active role as "the face of Prince Hotel" till the year 2000. In 2001, he opened his own French restaurant "Grand Chef Ohya" in Nogata Tokyo, and in 2015 he become the executive western chef at Urabandai Lake Resort.
